Moldova Tourism Forum is back for a second edition. The most important event dedicated to the tourism sector is organized this year by the Invest Moldova Agency and the Ministry of Culture with the support of the strategic partners USAID and Sweden.

For two days, on 29th and 30th of September 2022, the event will be the main communication platform between the tourism business environment, the national authorities, the international community and all actors involved in the development of the tourism sector – a strategic pillar for economic growth.

The objective of this edition of Moldova Tourism Forum is to bring in a strategic and agile approach to support the creation of a strong and resilient tourism industry in Moldova, based on sustainability, innovation, digitalization, creativity, and adaptability to new realities.

The unforeseen changes in the region brought the tourism sector to a near-complete standstill, generated a reorientation to domestic market, and demonstrated that building resilience and a systemic approach are important pillars for tourism development. Moldova managed to implement a series of policies, and to respond quickly to the needs of the tourism business environment, focused its efforts in adopting innovation and digitization, improving, and promoting its tourism offer online, improving existing services, and developing projects for sustainable and resilient development.

This year the forum hosts specialized discussions and workshops, where international and local experts address new trends in tourism, changes in demand for a greater digitalization, authentic and nature-based tourist experiences and a myriad of opportunities for entrepreneurs and communities.

Other topics of interest for the representatives of the tourism industry are the identification of common actions necessary for the development of regional tourism, and product diversification through modern and innovative tools.

“A small country with a big heart” campaign, which capitalizes the true hospitality shown by the nation and by the tourism sector in supporting Ukrainian refugees is one of the main themes of Moldova Tourism Forum 2022, as well as a case study of repositioning Moldova on the global map in this period of crisis.
